Ecommerce · Google Ads + Performance Max

A steady ~7× return on ad spend for a niche ecommerce brand.

A niche automotive-accessory ecommerce brand needed its Google Ads to stay profitable on a lean budget. By splitting effort between Search and Performance Max and optimizing relentlessly toward return on ad spend, we hold the account at roughly a 7× ROAS, with Search alone returning nearly 8×.

The challenge

For a small ecommerce brand, ROAS is everything, spend has to come back as profitable sales, month after month, without a big budget to absorb waste. Our client sells a niche automotive-accessory product online and needed Google Ads that reliably return several times their ad spend, not just traffic.

What we did

  • Search + Performance Max split: high-intent Search to capture ready-to-buy shoppers, and Performance Max (Shopping-led) to expand reach across Google’s surfaces.
  • Search-term mining: reviewing search-term reports on both campaigns and adding negative keywords for low-converting and irrelevant terms.
  • Feed and Shopping optimization: keeping product data clean so the right products show for the right searches.
  • Relentless ROAS focus: pruning waste and concentrating budget where the return is strongest.

The results

The account holds a blended ROAS around 682%, roughly seven dollars back for every dollar spent, with the Search campaign returning nearly 8× (792%) and Performance Max at 599%. The real story isn’t one big month; it’s consistency: a lean budget kept reliably profitable through disciplined, ongoing management. It’s exactly what ecommerce PPC management is supposed to deliver.
